Artist Bio
My name is Jennifer Koscielniak,
everyone usually calls me Jen or Jenny. Ever since I was six I have always
known that I wanted to be an artist. I really wanted to be an
animator but that all changed once I got into college. I
was accepted to
the Savannah College of Art and Design to study Computer
Art. This was somewhat of a challenge because when I was younger
I was never very computer savvy, but I persevered through and
found a knack in 3d set design and web design. I spent many a sleepless nights
in the labs for four years and came out with some pretty cool 3d shorts,
that have made it to a few film festivals ( Motel 4). I love 3d graphics and how
versatile this medium can be. I have seen the amount of creativity that
comes out of the many projects as well as shorts, and I am proud to
be a part of this field. I became interested in web design during college,
but it was not offered as a class. So you could say I'm pretty much self
taught. I think it's sort of cool, learning new programs and different
ways of doing things. Sometimes you learn the hard way, but the outcome
most definitely out weighs the obstacles.
So with all my computer knowledge, I decided
I wanted to intern at Fig Media in order to gain more experience and to share
my knowledge of 3D design with others. My internship was a great experience.
It was filled with lots of projects and some cool events. I realized how many different ways my talents could be used and gained some really great insight in the process. I am currently freelancing as a web designer and enjoying it, but would love a full time opportunity. I love what I do and I believe my passion shows through in the work I produce
I have a crazy array of interests and hobbies which include: sports,
books, music, art, photography, traveling, scuba diving, and painting.
I have always loved to travel and feel it has played a major role in
my life, it has allowed me to explore and appreciate other cultures.
I believe traveling brings more creativity and opens your mind. My favorite
artists are Edward Hopper, Alexander Calder, Christo and Jean Claude,
and Gaudi. My favorite art movement would have to be Art Nouveau, I
guess I have a thing for the lines, text, and the architecture. I love
to scuba dive, there is such a great feeling of freedom and empowerment,
and a whole hell of a lot of responsibility. My sister and I are both
certified rescue divers and do both underwater video and still photography.
A couple of my favorite books are any thing by Hemingway, The
Color of Water, The Hot Zone, and The Glory Field a book I read in 6th
grade. I love all kinds of music except country (sorry country
fans). I have so many favorite songs and bands that it would be impossible
to name them all.
-My favorite possession is not my computer, its my record player.
-I like people who can flash a smile and have a good strong hand shake.
-I dislike people who say "I DON'T KNOW" and then do not do anything to figure it out, I just believe it's the laziest
thing in the world.
-This may sound cheesy but my sister is one of my best friends. We have
always been close, but ever since her car accident it is as if we are
joined at the hip.
